Sawmill blade cooling oils

Sawmill blade cooling oils
Large sawmill blades cutting through hardwood can spin at over 100 mph and generate intense heat from friction. Special lubricating oils are sprayed directly onto the blade teeth to prevent overheating and warping. Without this cooling lubrication, a blade can lose its temper (hardness) in minutes and become useless. Modern mills recycle and filter this oil continuously, sometimes using the same batch for months.
