Popcorn machine lubrication

Popcorn machine lubrication
Commercial popcorn machines require special food-grade lubricants for their stirring mechanisms that must withstand temperatures above 450°F while remaining safe for food contact. These high-temperature lubricants often use synthetic base oils combined with thickeners that won't break down or smoke at popcorn-popping temperatures. The lubricant must also resist the acidic environment created by butter flavoring and salt. Some modern machines use self-lubricating bronze bearings to eliminate the need for additional oils.
