Washing machine drum lubrication

Washing machine drum lubrication
The drum in your washing machine spins on bearings that require special waterproof grease to function properly. When this grease breaks down from years of vibration and heat, it causes the loud grinding or squealing sounds many older washing machines make. Replacing these bearings is one of the most common washing machine repairs, often costing nearly as much as a new machine. Some modern washers now use permanently sealed bearing assemblies designed to last the machine's entire lifespan.
