Most consumer drones use brushless motors that require very little to no lubrication, relying on precision ball bearings instead. However, professional cinematography and delivery drones with heavy payloads need specialized low-viscosity oils to prevent overheating during extended flights. The oil must stay fluid in cold high-altitude conditions while protecting bearings that can spin over 10,000 RPM. This challenge has led to custom synthetic formulas designed specifically for aerial robotics.
